East Lansing wing champions

1. Wings Over East Lansing - Although they rarely run specials or anything close to some of our other specials this place is by far the winner.  Crowning them the best in East Lansing was an easy choice. Their menu is constructed of all Aeronautical names. Such as the "B-1 Bomber".  Their quality is at the highest in East Lansing.  Thick, juicy, and tender with 24 total flavor selections.

2. CLOSED! Wing Zone :( We're looking for new contenders, if you have a suggestion email us!

3. Buffalo Wild Wings - It's hard to deny B-dubs, They have so much experience perfecting their flavors, and excellent marketing.  Although they are no where near the size or tenderness of some other places they are a staple in the wing community.  With specials like buy one get one Tuesdays and plenty of HDTVs for entertainment B-Dubs will always be an East Lansing tradition.

ELB's favorite recipe

Here's what you'll need to get things started.  We always use corn oil when deep frying our own wings as it gets the wings a very nice deep fried finish and flavor. And obviously don't forget to pick up an electric deep fryer. We've used plenty and found as long as it gets the oil hot enough (around 350 degrees).  Wait till the oil is plenty hot till you toss the wings in!

Prepare the wings to your liking by cutting off some of the excess wing tip or excess skin then set aside while deep fryer warms up.  In a large bowl mix a stick of butter, about a half a cup of franks hot sauce, and a third cup of wild sauce. Microwave for a little bit just to melt the butter then mix so its consistent.  In another smaller bowl add about a half inch of Dave's rib rub.

Depending on the size of your fryer add 3-5 pieces 1 at a time until all are golden brown (usually 8-10 mins) Remove and set aside to cool.  Once they are cool enough to handle roll each one in the smaller bowl of Dave's rib rub then toss them into the larger bowl. Once all pieces are in the large bowl cover and shake until everything is well coated.  Then scarf those motherfuckers down cause they are damn good.
